The Upper Room is a Christian ministry in downtown Statesville, with an outreach to mostly high school and some college age. It is a coffee house environment on the street level plus a band room on the lower level. We exist to minister to youth, and to assist youth in ministering to their peers.

Bands NEED TO BE MINISTRY FOCUSED and ALL LYRICS need to be messages that encourage one's walk with the Lord. If your songs are about "life's struggles" make sure songs include the answer to the struggles and points directly to Jesus Christ.

A time of sharing or giving of your testimony is required by someone in/with your band (5-15 minutes). Please include scripture that has made a difference in your life.

Bookings are considered by; focus of the band, ministry minded lyrics, reflection of ministry in individual band members lives, similar age of UR attendees, and cost to come vs our ability to compensate.

Payment is from entrance money which may not cover gas money. Core attendance varies greatly so your promotion is critical! You are welcome to set up a merchandise table for CDs/t-shirts.

**All musicians need to arrive by 6:30 to meet with staff and pray prior to the venue opening at 7:00pm. Sound checks for first band/group are completed by 8:30pm.

Acoustic sets play on the street level stage about 8pm, and are generally "background music". Bands play downstairs with 45 minute sets, beginning at 8:45pm and 9:45. A UR soundman will run our sound equipment.
